Ajou University Hospital's medical philosophy is to offer the best services to its patients and the newest information to local healthcare professionals, and to contribute to medical development in Korea through advanced research. Presently, the hospital sees a daily average of 1,000 inpatients and 4,000 outpatients.

State-of-the-art Medical Equipment

Ajou University Hospital has state-of-the-art medical equipment, including Rapid Arc, the first cancer treatment in Asia, the da Vinci surgical robot, PET-CT, 3.0T MRI, 256Slices CT, SPECT PET, and various Angiography machines. As medical equipment become more sophisticated, patients can benefit from early and accurate diagnosis of theirdisease, and receive optimum treatment.

Large and Diverse Facilities

Located close to Gyeongbu Expressway, Yeongdong Expressway, and other major national roads, Ajou University Hospital is easily accessible. The hospital includes a main building with 14 ground-level floors and 3 basement-level floors, the Wellbeing center with 8 ground-level floors and 3 basement level, the funeral center with 3 ground-level floors and 2 basement level, the Regional Emergency Medical Center, the Southern Gyeonggi Trauma Center, and the medical university's Songjaegwan building with 10 ground-level floors. In addition, it offers a variety of amenities such as a 1,600-car parking lot, restaurants, banks, post office, and car maintenance center as well as cultural spaces for visitors. Of special interest, the Customer Information Center on the first floor of the hospital offers general hospital information and the Medical Referral Center is open for patient consultations.

Operating Rooms and Intensive Care Unit

Ajou University Hospital has 28 operating rooms including an exclusive robot-equipped operating room. Armed with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, skilled physicians, nurses, and medical technicians work as a solid team, performing organ transplants, highly complex heart surgeries, and other collaborative operations across a range of clinical departments.
The Intensive Care Unit comprises separate sections for internal medicine, general surgery, neurology, cardiology, neonatal, and emergency care, all of which offer differentiated intensive care for various needs. The ICU, which has EKG monitors, ventilators, and pacemakers, is manned 24 hours a day by specially trained medical staff.

Health Promotion Center

Health Promotion Center

The Ajou University Hospital Health Promotion Center, which opened at the beginning of the hospital opening, has established itself as a center which provides more than 20,000 medical health check-ups each year for foreign nationals. The Health Promotion Center, which provides a comprehensive service for health promotion through various health programs, try to initiate early treatment and manage it continuously with early detection of disease through systematic examination appropriate to individual's age, family history, and medical history and prompt consultation.

Rehabilitation Facilities

Ajou University Hospital is equipped with such rehabilitation facilities as hydrotherapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy clinics. Our rehabilitation team is composed of doctors, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, clinical psychiatrists, nutritionists, and social workers who work together to ensure the best and most professional treatment.

Regional Emergency Medical Center

Designated in 2002 as a Regional Emergency Medical Center for Southern Gyeonggi-do Province, the Emergency Medical Center of Ajou University Hospital serves the community 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The Center has 8 doctors trained in emergency medicine and 110 nurses, a resuscitation room, surgical facility, emergency room (69 beds), hospital rooms (41 beds), and an intensive care unit (20 beds). It treats between 80,000 and 90,000 patients a year.

Trauma Center

The Ajou University Hospital Center, which is called the mecca of treatment for serious trauma patients, has been designated as the Southern Center for trauma. Also, the government, Gyeonggi Province, and Ajou University Medical Center worked together to open a single regional trauma center building in 2016. Our trauma center in the southern region of Gyeonggi Province, which exceeded the preventable death rate by 9% just one year after its opening, with 300 medical staffs including nurses and emergency medical technicians are exclusively treating trauma patients 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Clinical and Medical Equipment Testing Centers

Designated as the regional clinical test center for Gyeonggi-do, Incheon, and Gangwon-do regions by the Ministry for Health and Welfare in 2005, Ajou University Hospital's Medical Equipment Clinical Test Center evaluates the safety, ethics, and efficacy of medical products, machinery, other medical supplies and medical technologies. In addition, it actively promotes the development of industries related to medicine and performs clinical research based on international standards of science and ethics.
